A meaningful call to action was initiated with the appointment of 4 student leaders as AvantMind Ambassadors who would embody empathy, compassion, awareness and pro-activeness towards dementia prevention efforts. The Youth Ambassadors (Monash Chapter) for AvantMind Matters (2025/26) are: Mr Javier Wong Jia Jun, Ms Shumi Tee, Ms Harshini Malayappan, Mr Nathan Tann Xin Yang, Ms Aw Yang Yet Yew.
A highlight of this campaign is the MindSpark Challenge, a National Student Competition on Dementia Intervention. MindSpark challenges students from all fields of study to propose innovative ideas and strategies that promote dementia awareness, improve support systems, and introduce forward-thinking technologies to support prevention, early diagnosis, and patient care. The Top 3 Teams will receive a seed fund to implement their proposals and the finalists compete for RM10,000 in pilot funding to expand their project.
Monash and Avanthealth will collaborate on a few more educational events, including a campus campaign in September 2025.
